This is from the clymer manual. Valve clearance 0.08-0.13mm (0.003-0.005 in)
and dont forgrt the auto decompression cable, it says you should adjust it before the valves. the small piston should come out of the solenois 3-5 mm. Actually I accidently adjusted my valves to .008 mm instead of .08, I ran the bike like that for almost a year, with no apparent damage before I realized I had them too loose!
